The workshop “Biofuels and sustainability criteria - what has changed under RED II?” was organized within the framework of the EU Twinning project “Renewable Energy Development in Ukraine”.

Experts from the Environment Agency Austria gave an overview on the new legal framework for biofuels and sustainability criteria under the so called RED II.

In turn, Director of the Renewable Energy Department of the SAEE Yuriy Shafarenko presented legislative initiatives developed by the Agency with partners to create a competitive solid biofuels and liquid biofuels markets in Ukraine.

Lively discussions among participants showed the big interest in the topic and were related to the implementation of European standards in the Ukraine.
