SAEE presented clean energy investment potential to the Chinese delegationCreated date
21 10 2019The SAEE Head Sergiy Savchuk with the Vice President and representatives of the Chinese company "China Longyuan Power Group” (http://www.clypg.com.cn) discussed the legislative framework and investment potential of "clean" energy in Ukraine and China.
The meeting was another step towards enhancing cooperation between Ukraine and China within the framework of the bilateral Memorandum of Understanding between the State Energy Efficiency Agency and the National Energy Administration of the People's Republic of China concluded in 2017 (http://www.nea.gov.cn).
“China Longyuan Power Group” is part of China's largest energy company “China Energy” (http://www.ceic.com, 226 GW) and specializes in renewable energy projects.
At the end of 2018, China Longyuan Power Group's total capacity reached over 21,000 MW. Among them over 18,000 MW are wind farms.
In addition, the company implements numerous projects in bioenergy, geothermal, solar, and wave energy.
In turn, Sergiy Savchuk emphasized the Chinese delegation's attention to the demand for natural gas substitution projects in Ukraine and outlined the current legislative incentives for investors in this area.
Having discussed the full potential of Ukraine's "clean" energy, the parties agreed to show to the Chinese side potential projects in the above mentioned areas as well as the UAMAP (https://uamap.org.ua).
At the same time, participants of the meeting drew attention to the need for joint B2B meetings in China and Ukraine, including with China Energy to expand partnerships in various clean energy sectors.
