Energy management systems implementation will help communities be ready for short- and long-term energy challengesCreated date
22 09 2022This was emphasized by the Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine (SAEE) Valerii Bezus, during the opening of the forum "Great Recovery: Energy Infrastructure".
"Talking about the challenges that communities are facing in the context of both this heating period and further recovery, it is important to consider energy transformation processes. It is about opportunities to use the benefits of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. A certain foundation at the level of state policy for work in this direction has already been formed," Valerii Bezus explained.
"In particular, the energy management system is the framework that will allow communities to shape the way towards sustainable development, as well as answers to the challenges of energy security in the short and long term," the Head added.
Therefore, the Head drew the attention of the forum participants - representatives of communities to the importance of introducing energy management systems and using all developments on modern technological and conceptual bases of energy transformation and decarbonization.
The State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine (SAEE) also provides consulting and methodological assistance to all authorities, enterprises and institutions in energy management issues in accordance with the requirements of the Law of Ukraine "On Energy Efficiency" and Government Resolution No. 1460 dated 12/23/2021 "On the Implementation of Energy Management Systems".
Thanks to energy management implementation energy costs can be reduced by 5-15% without large-scale financial investments.
Note:
In September of this year, the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine (SAEE) with the support of UNDP in Ukraine and with the participation of the Energy Auditors Association of Ukraine is conducting training seminars for authorities and subordinate enterprises for the common goal of starting a large-scale implementation of energy management systems in Ukraine.
A record number - more than 2,000 participants – have registered to participate in the series of seminars. These are representatives of central and local authorities as well as subordinate enterprises and institutions.
