At the Ministry of Energy, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Halushchenko and with the participation of the Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine Valerii Bezus, the meeting was held with the Deputy Head of the Mission of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Ukraine Alexandra Vatsko and Norwegian companies.

The parties discussed strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and Norway, in particular, in the field of renewable energy and gas supply.

German Halushchenko has emphasized that Ukraine is open to cooperation with Norwegian partners regarding projects to restore and rebuild the energy sector.

"We encourage our international partners and businesses to start developing projects now to be ready to begin their implementation as soon as we drive the enemy out of our land," he emphasized.

Valerii Bezus called on Norwegian partners for close cooperation in energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and renewable gases usage (hydrogen, biomethane), as well as in the reconstruction of the regions of Ukraine.

"I want to emphasize that despite the war, we continue to work on the European integration of Ukraine. This is serious work on the implementation of EU directives. In particular, for the high-quality implementation of the adopted Law of Ukraine "On Energy Efficiency", we are developing a regulatory framework, which includes about fifty by-laws," the Chairman said.

The Agency is also working on the implementation of the RED II directive, especially for the introduction of a single platform for guarantees of origin of energy. At the same time, it makes every effort to develop bioenergy, including the biomethane segment.

"In addition, we are working on a strategy for the recovery of Ukraine's regions, taking into account the potential of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources," Valerii Bezus emphasized.

Representatives of Norwegian energy companies, in their turn, presented their experience and achievements, as well as outlined the vision of the energy sector development and a number of future promising directions of partnership with Ukraine, taking into account modern trends and technologies.
