It was reported by the Head of State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine (SAEE) Sergiy Savchuk at the meeting with representatives of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety of Germany which took place on April 23, 2015 in the Agency.

This meeting is a continuation of implementing agreements achieved after the working visit of the Prime Minister of Ukraine A. Yatseniuk to Germany on April 1-2, 2015.

"It is important for our state that the Fund should work transparently and its work should be constructed so that the political and economic situation in the country has no influence on it", said Sergiy Savchuk.

According to the Agency's Head, the main objectives of the Fund shall be implementation of state instruments on energy efficiency in residential, public sector and further in enterprises of heat supply industry. Also it shall be cooperation with international financial institutions and organizations, donors as for development, implementation and promotion of energy efficiency and energy saving programs in these sectors, legal aid to recipients of support from the Fund.

Sergiy Savchuk also noted that the Fund's sources may be:

• funds from state budget;

• donor contributions from international financial institutions;

• contributions from natural and legal persons, residents and non-residents of Ukraine;

• revenues from the sale of quotas under the Kyoto Protocol and so on.

In addition, the parties underlined that an effective way to fill the Fund is introducing revolving mechanism that foresees that funds from state budget saved on subsidies can be used to the further support of energy efficiency projects.
