In Rivne the "Rivneteploenergo" and the Dutch company "KARA" plan to install biomass boilers with a total capacity of about 30 MWCreated date

In Rivne, the Rivneteploenergo company in partnership with the leading Dutch solid fuel boiler manufacturer “KARA” (https://lnkd.in/gf5mbqb) are working on the ways to substitute natural gas with biofuel.
It is planned to install Dutch solid biomass boilers with the total capacity of about 30 MW.
The volume of investment is around 8 million EUR.
The natural gas substitution potential is about 10 million cubic meters a year.
In addition, the Rivneteploenergo also plans other projects as well as boiler roomsmodernization to optimize natural gas use and its replacement.
The total investment in the planned projects can reach 12 million EUR.
All initiatives are expected to have the following benefits:
1. The city will be able to substitute up to 20 million cubic meters of natural gas per year and save funds on its purchase each year.
2. Heat from biomass will be 10% cheaper for consumers. It has become possible by introducing a stimulating tariff for heat from alternative energy sources in 2017. The relevant Law of Ukraine dated 21.03.2017 #1959-VIII was developed with the direct participation of the State Energy Efficiency Agency of Ukraine.
3. Solid biomass boilers will also supply hot water throughout the year.
