The SAEE Head Sergiy Savchuk at the meeting with the Minister of Energy of Lithuania Zygimantas Vaiciunas and the Ambassador of Lithuania to Ukraine Marius Janukonis discussed achievements and further steps for partnership of Ukraine and Lithuania in renewable energy within the framework of the concluded Memorandum of Cooperation in 2017.

 

Among the priority cooperation directions there is bioenergy development.

 

"Therefore, based on Lithuania's successful experience in biomass to heat generation and Baltpool's principles, we have prepared a draft law to introduce a transparent and competitive electronic trading system for solid biofuels in Ukraine", said Sergiy Savchuk.

 

At the same time, Lithuanian companies have already been working in Ukraine.

 

For example, the leading Lithuanian solar panel manufacturer «SoliTek» (https://solitek.eu) has installed 11 kW of solar power plant at the embassy’s roof. Thus, it is the first diplomatic institution that will use "clean" electricity for its needs.

 

In general, SAEE Head and Minister of Energy of Lithuania agreed to continue cooperation.
