Since the state banks have started to issue "warm loans" again this year, demand for state energy efficiency program has risen.

 

Thus, in August more than 370 condominiums have attracted over 110 million UAH of "warm loans" to insulate multi-storey buildings.

 

According to the program. the state reimbursement reaches up to 70% of the loan. Additional compensation can be given by local authority. There is a map of over 160 local warm loans co-financing programs at the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine web-site: http://saee.gov.ua/uk/programs/map.

 

For example, in Chernivtsi the housing cooperative №52 took 2 loans to replace windows and insulate the house. The total project cost was 3 million UAH. The state compensated 1.2 million UAH and local authorities reimbursed 15% of the interest rate – approximately 300 thousand UAH.

 

After all compensations, the project cost on average per apartment made up about 200 UAH per month.

 

At the same time, the heating costs decreased by 34%: from 28.5 UAH/m2 to 18.7 UAH/m2 per month.

 

Therefore, condominiums should apply to JSC "State Saving Bank of Ukraine", PrivatBank, Ukrgasbank with energy efficiency projects and get ready for the heating season.
