Project of Global Ecological Fund through the United Nations for Industrial Development (GEF/UNIDO)
Starting from 13.05.13 the State Agency of Ukraine for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Foodstuff of Ukraine are the Beneficiaries of the Global Ecological Fund Project through the United Nations for Industrial Development (GEF/UNIDO) “Improvement of Energy Efficiency and Encouragement of Renewable Energy Utilisation in Agricultural and Foodstuff and other Small and Medium Enterprises (SME)”.
The purpose of the Project is to develop market conditions to improve energy efficiency and to expand usage of renewable energy sources (RES) technologies focused on replacement of fuel in energy intensive small and medium enterprises (SME) in Ukraine as a basis for increase of their competitiveness when ensuring a comprehensive approach towards decrease of carbon dioxide and improvement of environment.
Under the Project 50 pilot, sub-projects will be selected from enterprises of the agricultural and foodstuff industry and related sectors (including enterprises that manufacture equipment for renewable energy), which the Project will provide support having prepared the respective business plans and assistance in the attraction of investments in the form of grants and loans.
The Project will be implemented until May 2016. The leading institution for the implementation of the Project is the Institute of Renewable Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
