This was discussed at the presentation "Energy Efficiency in Ukraine: French Contribution" organized by the Embassy of France in Ukraine and European-Ukrainian Energy Agency on April 21 in Kyiv. The event was attended by the people's deputy of Ukraine Oleksiy Riabchyn, representatives of Ministry for Regional Development, Building and Housing of Ukraine, SAEE, EBRD, local authorities and business environment.

In the beginning of the event the Agency's Head Sergiy Savchuk said that the successful experience of France in the spheres of energy efficiency and renewable energy are extremely useful and important for Ukraine. Therefore today the Agency strengthens cooperation with the Embassy of France in Ukraine in terms of attracting French investors and manufacturers of energy-efficient equipment, materials and technologies to the Ukrainian market. "Today we see that the number of foreign investors who want to come to Ukraine with their technologies, with their experience, with large low-interest funds, is gradually increasing", admitted S. Savchuk.

During the event participants learned about the first results of the project held by the French company "Beten International" that developed feasibility study (FS) to improve energy efficiency for the objects of high social importance in four cities: Kharkiv, Rivne, Berdychiv and Ladyzhyn. "Feasibility study is the first key document to obtain funding for the project realisation", - said Oleksandr Vangelii, Deputy Director of the Beten International.

The seminar was also attended by the First Deputy Chairman of the Agency Oleksii Korchmit. According to his words, the Agency is actively developing and introducing an appropriate regulatory framework to create a favourable investment field in energy efficiency, taking into account business needs.

In general, participants had the opportunity to see successful results of the French companies' work in the spheres of energy efficiency and replacement of natural gas by alternative fuels and to share experience.
