Ukrainian delegation led by Minister of Energy and Environment Protection of Ukraine Oleksiy Orzhel will participate in the 10th Session of the IRENA Assembly that will be held on January 10-12, 2020 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The corresponding Decree dated 09.01.2020 №2/2020 was signed by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky (https://www.president.gov.ua/documents/22020-31733).

Also there is a representative of the State Energy Efficiency Agency of Ukraine in the delegation, namely - Yuriy Shafarenko, Director of the Renewable Energy Department.

According to IRENA, more than 1500 participants from more than 160 countries are expected to attend the X Session of the IRENA Assembly this year, including senior officials, business, international organizations and the public.

The goals are to discuss current issues of global energy transformation, "clean" energy and its impact on the sustainable development of society.

We would like to remind you that Ukraine became a full member of IRENA in 2018.

In particular, in cooperation with IRENA experts, a legal framework for green auctions has been developed.

Also, in 2019, in response to the SAEE invitation IRENA Francesco La Camera personally visited Ukraine, had a speech at the X International Renewable Energy Investment Forum (http://saee.gov.ua/en/news/3259) and met with Prime Minister of Ukraine O. Honcharuk (http://saee.gov.ua/en/news/3260).

In addition, Ukraine was elected to the IRENA Program and Strategic Committee for 2019 - 2021.
