Despite the full-scale military aggression and terrorism of russia, Ukraine is consistently following the path of European integration.

Ukraine is actively implementing the 4th EU energy package. In addition, its main directions - energy efficiency, decarbonization, "green" transition - best meet the country's needs for recovery and further development.

This was emphasized by the Director of the Renewable Energy Department of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine (SAEE) Olena Lenska during the 15th meeting of the coordination group on renewable energy, held by the Energy Community.

"One of the priority directions for replacing natural gas and further decarbonization is biomethane production. In order to develop this direction, a legal framework was created in Ukraine. As a result, the country's first biomethane plant was recently launched. New projects are also expected", said Olena Lenska.

Olena Lenska also outlined a number of draft laws aimed at bioenergy development and reminded of the prepared draft National Renewable Energy Action Plan until 2030, which has passed the strategic environmental assessment procedure and will be submitted to the Government of Ukraine for consideration.

"It is important for Ukraine to continue to follow modern European trends in sustainable development. Therefore, we are implementing the provisions of the European directives step by step", concluded Olena Lenska.
