Helping Ukrainians Keep More in Their Pockets: New Energy Efficiency Campaign Launched

"Keep the money for yourself" – this is the message of a nationwide information campaign jointly launched by the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, and the Danish Energy Agency.
The campaign emphasizes that energy efficiency is not a complex or costly luxury, but a set of practical, affordable solutions that help people save money and improve their quality of life.
The goal of the campaign is to show Ukrainians real-life examples and clear benefits of smart energy use – from simple daily actions anyone can take right now, to advanced modernization programs supported by the state. Recent surveys show that 72% of Ukrainians are trying to save energy in their daily lives. However, 58% report a lack of clear and practical information on how to do it effectively.
“After three years of war, Ukrainians have come to understand the critical importance of energy efficiency. In most cases, energy efficiency is not about complex technical solutions — it’s about our everyday lives. Even small changes in our behavior, focused on saving energy, can lead to tangible results. Using energy-efficient light bulbs, thermostats, or Aclass appliances, or even simply adjusting the settings on a boiler or freezer, already helps save money and keep it in the family budget. That’s why our task is to talk about this in simple and convincing terms, so that the principle of ‘energy efficiency first’ becomes our lifestyle — from individual Ukrainian households to communities and the country as a whole,” commented Anna Zamazieieva, Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine.
The first phase of the campaign will be launched in Mykolaiv, with the Danish Energy Agency as one of the key partners.
“Denmark is one of Europe's leaders in energy efficiency and a committed supporter of Ukraine. At the Danish Energy Agency, we have achieved in-depth experience and are thrilled to be able to share this and support Ukraine with ways of saving energy. Through this campaign, we hope for Ukrainians to discover the real financial benefits of energy-saving solutions. Furthermore, saving energy also helps secure energy supply and contribute in keeping the Ukrainian society running”, says Iben Møller Søndergård, Deputy Director General at The Danish Energy Agency.
