It was reported by Volodymyr Hroisman - Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Regional Development, Building and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine while introducing a newly appointed Head of the Agency Serhii Savchuk to the staff.

According to Volodymyr Hroisman, today Ukraine doesn't receive a Russian gas, has problems with energy supply because of military actions, a dilapidated infrastructure of coal mines in the area of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). Against this background, energy efficiency is a matter of national security of Ukraine. Therefore the Agency's task is to intensify efforts to increase energy independence of Ukraine, namely, to develop mechanisms to reduce gas consumption by implementing modern energy efficient technologies and creating incentives for using alternative energy sources.

The Agency's Head Serhii Savchuk said that he would do everything for this and hoped for support of the Agency's staff, experts and business in this area.
