The Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving participated in the 7th meeting of the Steering Committee of the Ukrainian-Danish Energy Partnership Program (UDEPP)
The meeting was attended by the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine, Thomas Lund-Sørensen, the team from the Embassy of Denmark in Ukraine, the Danish Energy Agency, and brought together all key Ukrainian partners of the Program: the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NEURC), and the National Electricity Transmission System Operator “Ukrenergo.”
Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, Hanna Zamazieieva, emphasized: “We have defined the next steps of cooperation: we agreed on the work program for 2026, approaches to the allocation of additional funding, as well as the preparation for a new phase — UDEPP II, scheduled to start in January 2027. We view this partnership as a long-term joint story, in which each phase logically continues the previous one.”
Among the key priorities of the Ukrainian-Danish energy partnership for 2026 are promoting European integration processes, attracting investments in the energy sector, developing renewable energy, and creating a competitive biomethane market in Ukraine.
Ukraine and the Kingdom of Denmark are consistently and systematically building a strategic partnership in energy transition and decarbonization, which is already showing practical results. During the meeting, the Head of the State Agency reported on key achievements within UDEPP, in particular:
the development and implementation of a mechanism for voluntary energy efficiency agreements, which have already been signed by 62 Ukrainian companies;
conducting pilot energy audits of public buildings (Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Communities and Territories Development, State Agency on Energy Efficiency), which laid the foundation for creating a catalog of effective technical solutions;
implementing a large-scale information campaign to promote energy-efficient practices, including video tips for community residents, passengers of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia,” and metro users;
establishing the Mykolaiv Regional Office for Decarbonization and Energy Efficiency with support from Denmark, which provides consultations to citizens and businesses on modern “green” solutions;
organizing joint training seminars for the network of Decarbonization Offices, where Ukrainian specialists have the opportunity to consult directly with leading Danish experts.
The meeting also presented the Ukraine-Denmark Transition Program (UTP) and discussed preparations for the new phase of UDEPP II (2027–2031).
“Thanks to all members of the Coordination Committee for their fruitful work, and to our steadfast partners — the Danish people and government — for their trust and consistent support of Ukraine,” summarized Hanna Zamazieieva.
