The State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine Held a Meeting with Representatives of the Danish Energy Agency and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Ukraine
During the meeting, the Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, Anna Zamazeeva, expressed her gratitude for the strong and consistent support of the Kingdom of Denmark and highlighted several key areas of cooperation that are already delivering tangible results.
The first area is the implementation of voluntary energy efficiency agreements, which have already been fully launched in Ukraine. Together, we have not only developed standard agreement templates, but also laid the foundation for a long-term partnership model between the state and the private sector. As of today, 62 voluntary energy efficiency (decarbonization) agreements have been signed.
“We are currently working closely with our Danish colleagues to build an effective monitoring and verification system for voluntary agreements. This will enable a more systematic tracking of progress toward energy efficiency, decarbonization, and energy consumption reduction targets. Our key task at this stage is to promote this mechanism among businesses,” noted Anna Zamazeeva.
The second important area is improving energy efficiency in public buildings. In cooperation with Danish partners, energy audits were conducted for four administrative buildings: two buildings of the Ministry of Energy, one building of the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, and one building of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine.
Based on the audit findings, a toolkit for public buildings with priority energy-efficiency measures was developed. The pilot audits became the basis for a catalogue of energy-efficient solutions. Preparatory work on information materials with recommendations for building energy managers is currently at the final stage. These materials are planned to be disseminated among as wide a range as possible of buildings belonging to central executive authorities.
Another important area is information campaigns aimed at promoting energy efficiency among the population. The campaign implemented during the summer covered all regions of Ukraine: almost all communities joined its implementation. Information materials were размещені at Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) stations and on trains, as well as in the Kharkiv and Kyiv metro systems. In total, the campaign reached almost 3 million people. Work is currently underway on the next campaign, which will focus on energy efficiency in buildings and industry.
Special attention was also paid to the Mykolaiv Regional Office for Decarbonization and Energy Efficiency, established with the support of Denmark. Thanks to its work, awareness of energy-efficiency opportunities in the region has significantly increased, including knowledge about the instruments of the Decarbonization Fund.
Together with the Danish Energy Agency, a series of practical workshops for Decarbonization Offices from different regions has also been launched. The first workshop has already taken place and was dedicated to state support mechanisms for the implementation of energy efficiency projects. A total of eight workshops are planned, and the next one will be held by the end of November on the topic “Municipal Plans.”
The meeting was attended by:
