About 10 million Ukrainians learned how energy efficiency helps save money
The State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine has summarized the results of the second wave of the nationwide energy efficiency information campaign implemented in 2026 — “Save This Energy for Yourself!”
From February to April 2026, the Agency, in partnership with the Danish Energy Agency within the framework of the Ukrainian-Danish Energy Partnership Program, carried out a large-scale information campaign titled “Save This Energy for Yourself.”
The campaign aimed to encourage energy-saving behavior among the population and promote simple, practical solutions that help Ukrainians improve comfort in their homes, reduce energy costs, and strengthen their energy resilience amid frequent outages and energy shortages.
The campaign was implemented in two phases:
• February–March 2026 — raising awareness and reaching a broad audience;
• March–April 2026 — deepening understanding of the topic and reinforcing key messages.
According to sociological surveys conducted as part of the campaign, it demonstrated high effectiveness:
• 85% of respondents consider the campaign relevant to Ukrainian realities;
• 88% noted its importance for the autumn-winter period;
• 54% positively evaluated the practical energy efficiency recommendations.
The “Save This Energy for Yourself” campaign used a comprehensive media mix, including television, digital platforms, outdoor advertising, transport infrastructure, local authorities, and partner media projects.
At the national level, campaign partners included the United News telethon channels, local TV channels, regional state administrations and local governments, Ukrzaliznytsia, Kyiv Metro, local media outlets, and other organizations.
The campaign reached approximately 10 million people, with its visibility reinforced by over 1,400 media publications.
The central elements of the campaign were the official website of the Agency and the page www.eeua.org.ua, which feature practical recommendations, informational materials, and advice for households.
An important part of the campaign was also a special project on UP.Life, presenting concrete steps and solutions to help Ukrainians better prepare their homes for the next winter and save 30% or more on utility costs.
The results of the nationwide campaign “Save This Energy for Yourself” confirmed the effectiveness of government communication in the field of energy efficiency and the importance of continuing systematic public outreach.
We express our gratitude to the Kingdom of Denmark and the Danish Energy Agency for their support, expertise, and active participation in developing and implementing energy efficiency information campaigns.
The State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine will continue working on developing informational tools and expanding campaigns aimed at promoting energy-efficient solutions and fostering a culture of energy-saving behavior among Ukrainian citizens.
