Education Shaping the Future: Energy Efficiency as a Priority for Ukraine’s Reconstruction
On September 9, the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv hosted a guest lecture by Hanna Zamazieieva, Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine (SAEE), at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service. The lecture was titled “Ukraine’s Energy Efficiency Strategy.”
“Today, communities need strong and competent leaders — those who will rebuild the country after the war, create conditions for business development, attract local investments, protect citizens’ interests, and ensure transparency in governance,” emphasized Hanna Zamazieieva during her discussion with students.
During the meeting, participants discussed:
The importance of energy efficiency for the country’s economic resilience and energy independence;
The role of local self-government in community reconstruction;
Opportunities for developing “green” projects and attracting investments.
Special attention was given to the master’s program “Local Self-Government,” which includes a dedicated module on energy-efficient territorial development.
This module was developed in collaboration with SAEE and is designed to provide students with knowledge and practical skills to strengthen Ukraine’s energy independence.
Additionally, this year, the Head of SAEE will join the institute’s faculty and teach students at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
It is the youth — future leaders and reformers — who will be able to apply the knowledge gained in their communities, contribute to the country’s reconstruction, and promote the development of sustainable energy.
