The meeting focused on the activities of the Decarbonization Fund of Ukraine and on coordinating joint efforts with international partners to implement projects in the fields of energy efficiency and decarbonization.
During the meeting, Hanna Zamazieieva presented to the partners the results of the Fund’s first year of operation.
“As of today, the Fund has financed 54 projects across Ukraine, with a total value of 711.2 million hryvnias. This is a tangible outcome of our systematic work to implement energy-efficient solutions and reduce CO₂ emissions,” emphasized Hanna Zamazieieva.
Participants from the European Union Delegation to Ukraine included Torsten Eugroup, Energy, Climate and Environment Advisor; Dr. Irena Gabrielaitiene, Energy, Housing Policy, and Recovery Programme Manager; Vitaliya Mudruk, EU Delegation Representative in Ukraine; and Jocelin Kerpel-Froniuss from the Recovery, Energy, Infrastructure, and Environment Section.
The Ukrainian side was represented by Olesia Mishchenko, Chair of the Board of JSC “Decarbonization Fund of Ukraine”; Mariia Malaia, First Deputy Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency; and Volodymyr Korotkov, Deputy Head for Digital Development, Transformation, and Digitalization.
Special attention during the discussion was given to mobilizing international financing and risk management. A key topic was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Decarbonization Fund of Ukraine and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
“The EBRD has expressed its readiness to allocate 50 million euros for financing initiatives through the Decarbonization Fund. In this context, we discussed with the EU Delegation representatives the need to develop an effective mechanism for coordination and cooperation,” noted the Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency.
The State Agency on Energy Efficiency expressed its gratitude to the partners for a constructive dialogue and their willingness to continue cooperation in implementing joint initiatives in the fields of energy efficiency and decarbonization.
