Instruments for the development and implementation of national strategies in energy efficiency sector were presented at the seminar in the SAEE

On October 20, 2015 the seminar entitled "Instruments for Developers of National Strategies: Energy Benchmarking in Public Buildings and National Action Plan Monitoring Platform" was organized in Kyiv by the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine (SAEE) with the support of the GIZ Project "Energy Efficiency in Municipalities".

The Head of the SAEE Serhiy Savchuk stressed on the importance of such event in his welcome address. "Within the obligations undertaken by Ukraine towards the Energy Community we have already developed a National Energy Efficiency Action Plan by 2020. The instruments presented today by the German experts, namely energy benchmarking, will be useful in the course of its implementation", – Sergiy Savchuk underlined.

The GIZ Project Director Christiana Hageneder highlighted that the workshop was particularly necessary for those professionals who worked in the sphere of energy efficiency policy planning. According to her, the energy future of our country depends on the efficient work of these specialists. It is no coincidence that the seminar is held in the SAEE, a key center for addressing energy efficiency issues in the country.

During the event the representatives of the SAEE, other state authorities and academic institutions had an opportunity to learn two main instruments – energy benchmarking and software for monitoring and verification of implementation of the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan.
