New Opportunities for Cooperation: Ukrainian Delegation Explores Denmark’s Experience in Industrial Energy Efficiency
As part of the Ukrainian-Danish energy partnership, a study visit of a Ukrainian delegation to the Kingdom of Denmark took place from February 23 to 27, 2026. The visit focused on exchanging experience in energy efficiency, decarbonization, and the development of renewable energy in industry.
The key objective of the visit was to explore advanced Danish practices, public policies, and innovative approaches that could be applied in Ukraine.
Representatives of the Danish Energy Agency shared their experience in developing the energy system, improving industrial energy efficiency, implementing innovative technical solutions, and shaping climate policy.
Special attention was paid to government support instruments for energy efficiency, district heating system planning, the role of ecodesign in product regulation, as well as approaches to decarbonizing industry and the municipal sector. Participants had the opportunity to discuss practical aspects of implementing such solutions and exchange experiences.
The Ukrainian side presented its own developments in the field of energy efficiency, in particular the activities of the Decarbonization Fund of Ukraine and the Mykolaiv Regional Office for Decarbonization and Energy Efficiency, which operates with the support of the Government of Denmark. Programs aimed at reducing energy consumption and developing clean energy were also presented.
During the discussions, the parties outlined opportunities for further cooperation, including the implementation of European energy efficiency practices, training for veterans, and providing expert support in the implementation of ecodesign directives.
In addition, the delegation visited a number of institutions and enterprises, where they were able to gain practical insight into the implementation of sustainable technologies, efficient resource management, and modern approaches to environmentally friendly production.
The study visit became an important step in strengthening the partnership between Ukraine and Denmark in the field of energy efficiency and sustainable development. The experience gained will contribute to the further implementation of modern solutions in Ukraine’s economy.
