New road signs and green numbers will be introduced for electric vehicles in Ukraine
The Verkhovna Rada adopted a draft Law No.10405 to improve the infrastructure of charging stations for electric vehicles.
In particular, it is planned to introduce:
- special green numbers for electric cars;
- new road signs "For electric cars", "Except electric cars" and "Electric charging station";
- and also better access of electric cars to charging stations.
Special road signs are used in many countries: Austria, Germany, Hungary, Norway, Great Britain, China, India, Latvia, Ontario Province in Canada.
As of June 1, 2019, more than 25 thousand electric vehicles and hybrids were registered in Ukraine that is 56% more than a year ago.
The law will come into force from the beginning of 2020.
