November 22 — Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Holodomors
Starvation as a form of torture is one of the cruelest methods of destroying a people.
This is how Ukraine endured multiple tragedies in the 20th century, when millions were doomed to die simply for being Ukrainian. Over 90 years have passed, yet the enemy’s methods have not changed: to destroy, to conceal the truth, to break the spirit, and to take away a people’s voice, identity, and will to freedom.
Today, we light a candle of remembrance once again. Its flame preserves our people through memories, family stories, photographs, and oral histories. This is vital, because every generation of Ukrainians must know what our neighbor is capable of when Ukrainian freedom stands in the way.
Eternal memory to the victims.
Glory to those who defend our people and our future today.
