The State Agency on Energy Efficiency (SAEE) held a working meeting with representatives of the Swedish company V94 to discuss the international GREEN-VET project and the development of cooperation in Ukraine’s “green” reconstruction.
The Swedish company V94 has been operating in Ukraine for two years, focusing on the construction sector and vocational training. During the meeting, participants presented the new GREEN-VET project, which focuses on energy efficiency and “green” construction. The project aims to train 45 veterans with prior experience in the construction field as specialists in energy modernization at the Poltava Vocational College.
The training program will last 18 weeks, including 8 weeks of theoretical preparation, 8 weeks of practical training at construction sites, and 2 weeks dedicated to democratic values and anti-corruption approaches. Upon completion, graduates will receive official certificates from Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture (KNUCA).
It was emphasized that the project targets veterans who do not wish to return to their previous jobs and are seeking new qualifications in an innovative sector. Graduates are expected to work as energy efficiency consultants, participate in energy modernization projects, or establish their own service companies in the “green” construction sector.
SAEE representatives confirmed their interest in supporting the initiative and noted their prior experience participating in Erasmus+, including the UkrEnergy project.
The parties discussed potential areas for SAEE involvement in the project, including expert support in developing the training program, participation of specialists in trainer preparation, and delivering guest lectures for veterans on state standards and policies in energy efficiency.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed on continued cooperation and joint work on the implementation of the GREEN-VET project in Ukraine.
