The President signed a law on energy storage systems development
On April 18, 2022, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law on the use of energy storages, which will balance energy system and increase the stability of electricity supply to consumers.
For the first time, the law will regulate energy storage activities in Ukraine. In particular, the following are envisaged:
• new terms: energy storage system, energy storage system operator and fully integrated network elements;
• new participant in the electricity market - the operator of the energy storage system with certain rights and responsibilities;
• licensing of energy storage activities.
Energy storage systems are especially necessary for the integration of "green" energy facilities into the energy system of Ukraine, as they contribute to the reliability of the planned power supply to the grid.
