The State Agency on Energy Efficiency Strengthens Cooperation with Austria

Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine (SAEE), Hanna Zamazieieva, held an important meeting with the newly appointed Coordinator of the Austrian Government for Ukraine’s Reconstruction — Wolfgang Anzengruber — who visited Ukraine on his first official trip.
During the talks, both sides focused on concrete steps to enhance bilateral cooperation. Special attention was given to the need for signing an intergovernmental agreement that would lay the foundation for a strategic partnership in the field of energy efficiency.
Hanna Zamazieieva presented the key achievements of the SAEE and the Ukrainian Decarbonization Fund, as well as outlined promising areas of cooperation with Austrian financial institutions and manufacturers of modern energy-efficient equipment.
“We have clearly identified priority areas for attracting Austrian investors: development of energy efficiency projects, implementation of advanced renewable energy technologies, infrastructure modernization, and increasing the energy efficiency of buildings,” emphasized the Head of the SAEE.
The parties also discussed the current needs of Ukraine’s energy sector — in particular, the development of energy storage systems and the modernization of buildings using advanced Austrian expertise and technologies.
Austria is a recognized European leader in energy efficiency and renewable energy. We are confident that the partnership between our countries will be mutually beneficial and deliver tangible results. Cooperation within the framework of previously signed memorandums between the SAEE and Austrian organizations, including the Austrian Energy Agency, is already gaining momentum.
We sincerely thank Mr. Wolfgang Anzengruber, Austrian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Robert Müller, and the entire Austrian delegation for the open dialogue, constructive proposals, and genuine willingness to deepen cooperation.
