Training highly qualified specialists is a key investment in Ukraine's future
Training specialists for the energy sector is a key topic at the “EnergoStart: Investments in the Future of Ukraine's Energy Sector” forum. During the panel discussion “Training personnel for the energy industry: challenges and solutions”, Viktor Bilko, the Deputy Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, stressed the importance of modern youth participating in the country's development. It is competent and highly skilled young professionals, who will determine the pace and quality of recovery. Therefore, the priority must be to provide quality education in energy and energy efficiency.
A modern Ukrainian university is a centre of knowledge and a reliable partner for the state, businesses, and society. By focusing on innovation, research and international cooperation, it can ensure that a new generation of specialists is trained who are capable of dealing with global challenges.
This is why the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, the main expert in the field of energy efficiency, has partnered with the EU Erasmus+ UKRENERGY international educational programme, “Innovative Master's Courses to Support Improvement of the Energy and Carbon Footprint of the Ukrainian Building Stock”. The programme brings together eight Ukrainian and four European universities.
As part of the project, Ukrainian partner universities have updated the existing structure of master's courses, either fully or partially, in accordance with the recommendations of the European Education Area. Particular focus has been given to the Bologna Process, and master’s recruitment for the 2024–25 academic year has already begun.
