Ukraine is Building a Market for Green Investments and Partnership with the EU

Climate innovations are no longer just ideas — they are increasingly being turned into real projects that transform businesses and communities. This gives confidence that even in the most challenging times, Ukraine continues on the path of energy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainable development.

“For the State Agency on Energy Efficiency, this means concrete work: introducing energy labeling and eco-design requirements, implementing sustainability criteria for biomass, biofuels, and biomethane, launching the mechanism for assessing, monitoring, and verifying greenhouse gas emission reductions in decarbonization projects, as well as a range of other important tasks,” emphasized Hanna Zamazieieva, Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency, during the closing ceremony of the Climate Innovation Vouchers program organized by Greencubator.

During the event, 11 companies were recognized for their innovations contributing to CO₂ reduction and the development of green projects. In total, the program supported 64 Ukrainian companies, which received more than €2 million in grant funding in partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Union.

The participants also discussed the challenges of innovation during wartime, the results achieved, and the next steps to ensure that Ukrainian solutions become integrated into the European Green Deal.

Today, Ukraine is not only rebuilding its economy but also shaping a new market with strong investment potential in recovery and green energy — offering Europe a reliable strategic partnership.
