UKRENERGY team gathered for coordination meeting
To summarize the results of three years of project implementation, discuss next steps, future plans, and opportunities for continued cooperation and scaling up the project outcomes, the UKRENERGY team convened for the 4th coordination meeting, held on March 16–20, 2026, at the University of Genoa (Italy).
This year, the event was attended by First Deputy Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, Mrs Maria Malaia, who emphasized the importance of consolidating efforts and resources (including educational ones) to train qualified professionals capable of rebuilding Ukraine according to the modern Build Back Better principle — “to rebuild better than before.” During the meeting, Maria Malaia familiarized participants with the current priorities of state policy in the field of energy efficiency and highlighted the need to implement EU directives in energy efficiency, science, and education. She also informed participants about the partners with whom the Agency cooperates in the educational sphere.
During the coordination meeting, participants thoroughly reviewed the current status of task implementation, achieved results, and challenges encountered during the project execution, particularly those related to the procurement of equipment by universities for teaching laboratories. Overall, a positive dynamic in the project’s implementation was noted.
Key agenda topics include:
- updates on procurement procedures for modern educational and laboratory equipment for Ukrainian HEIs;
- status of delivery of lectures within the newly developed Master Study Programmes;
